For Bill Davis he built a very successful trucking company before he even thought about racing. Bill Davis earliest form of racing was when he was in high school and helped out a Top Fuel Drag Racing Team. From that day forward Bill Davis was hooked on racing. Bill also raced motor cross across the country. He also worked with Julian Martin father of Superstar Mark Martin. This was the first time Bill Davis had serious thoughts about this hobby as an actual business. Bill Davis soon got into racing more as he helped Julian Martin and Mark Martin with trucks from his trucking business. This help Bill Davis see first hand if racing was something he wanted to get into. Bill Davis got so interested in racing in 1990 he decided it was time to move to North Carolina and do racing full time. His wife stayed back in Arkansas and ran the trucking company. Bill Davis was the first to hire a young Jeff Gordon who drove a Busch Series car for him. Bill Davis was now on the map. Having Martin and Gordon in his stable made him a force to reckon with. But it wouldn't last long as Jeff Gordon leaves for Rick Hendrick Motorsports. Bill Davis would regroup and hire more big names from Bobby Labonte to Ward Burton. Running Busch series cars Bill Davis won his fair share. But what he wanted was to move to Winston Cup which he has. Bill Davis will continue to be a force no matter what series he's in. So what's in store for Bill Davis ? His future looks very bright as he built a very successful trucking company and has done the same in NASCAR. A championship shouldn't be to far away.
