Golf Clubs - We explain the different types of golf clubs -
By Jim Sanders
There are many types of golf clubs, we want to show you the
difference between them all. hopefully this will help you select the
right clubs.
One thing you have to know is the different
types of golf clubs and what they are used for. This will help
your golf game. You already knew that!
Golf clubs can be divided between four groups.
- Woods
- Irons
- Wedges
- Putters
WOODS are primarily used for drives off the golf tee to place the
ball in the fairway. The latest craze is to get a titanium driver.
These clubs are all claiming to have a better centering to them to
prevent slices so far the jury is out. Some of the most popular woods
is the Callaway Big Bertha
IRONS Are used the closer you are to the green, the higher the iron
you will use. A standard set of irons consists of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
irons. These clubs can come in all shapes and sizes. The clubs can be
made out of steel or the ever popular graphite shafts.
Most golfers
that have switched to the graphite shaft will tell you that the ball
goes much further and that their game has improved dramatically. Once
Tiger woods made the switch to the graphite shafts the sales of golf
clubs has risen ten-fold. Most golfers are always looking for that
extra edge when it comes to making their golf game that much better.
Some popular irons are Taylor Made and the Nike golf club.
WEDGES These golf clubs are called wedges because that's the basic job
description. You have the Sand wedge that gets you out of bunkers.
Pitching wedges that get you out of the rough. These golf wedges all
come with different pitches to them. some people get the pitching
wedge with the set of irons but it really is a wedge.
PUTTER The Golf putter only has one job and that is to get the ball
into the hole. There are all types of golf putters we would suggest
that you use the one that feels the most comfortable to you since it
is the club that makes your money shot.
There are many other Golf accessories out there to also help your
game I will cover these in another article. We hope you have learned
something and this golf article was of some help to you.
