High School Football: Becoming More Popular
Each And Every Year by Kenny Watkins
Once thought to be on the decline high school
football as seen resurgence in recent years. High school football is
usually played on Friday nights but now more games are being schedule
for primetime Saturday night and are being broadcast on television.
What has made High school football become so big lately? A lot of
factors can be attributed to this, new wave of popularity. High school
football is where colleges go to find the next superstar for their
programs.
Colleges send scouts during the fall and spring seasons to look over
talent and see if they will fit in their programs. Television has also
changed high school football a lot. Some schools actually have
television contracts and some schools have brand new stadiums that
rival some college teams.
With more coverage and every team wanting to be number one the sport
has grown. The USA Today also prints a Top 25 in high school football
during the season.
USA Today Top 25 High School Teams
Kids love seeing their team in the top 25 so
that's another incentive and if you are named USA Today's team of the
year that's like your Super Bowl of high school sports.
So many factors have sent high school football to the fore front. It
doesn't look like it will end anytime soon. So go out and enjoy your
favorite team on a Friday or Saturday night. And one day you might
open a USA Today and see your team rated number one.
