can make a racing flag cake by baking a rectangular white cake (or checkerboard
cake if you want to get fancy) and use black and white frosting to make it look
like the checkered flag. You could even take toothpicks and fold black and white
checkered paper around them to make look like little racing flags - add these to
the top of the cake for more decoration or stick them into the tops of cupcakes
if you prefer.

Go to your local hobby or craft store and buy some large rolls of construction
paper. Cut the paper into large strips and paint roadway lines on them in black
paint. or, if you are able to buy a roll of black contruction paper, paint the
lines white. After they dry, you can lay the track down in the party room, it's
best if the room doesn't have carpeting so you adhere it with double sided tape
on the underside. Have old tires in the garage? Dust them off and toss them
around the roadtrack for added car racing ambiance.
