NBA Draft: The Odds Determine Teams Draft
Order by Kenny Watkins of

What a difference a few years have made in
the NBA draft. Many moons ago the NBA draft was determine by the
record of a team on where they would pick in the NBA draft. But things
have changed vastly!
Today's NBA draft is now done with a system. The top three teams are
determined by record. The worst record the better chance you have of
winning the top pick.
The three teams with the worse records each
has a chance for the number one pick. But only one team gets it. It
doesn't always work that way as in the past the worse record didn't
get the number one pick.
Picks from number four on down is determine by record. And then seeded
for the draft. Today's NBA draft has become somewhat different now but
the goal is still the same, get the best player available.
The NBA draft now has more underclassmen and high school students
entering the draft than ever before. This has somewhat watered down
the NBA draft. Some high school players are ready for the NBA, but
some aren't so lucky.
Many NBA teams have to choose who they want in the NBA draft young raw
talent or a polished college player. In today's market most teams are
going for the young raw talent. This has watered down the talent pool
in the NBA draft.
So where does the NBA go from here. The NBA draft will probably have
to decide eventually if high school players should be allowed, like
the NFL had too. I'm sure in the near future that won't change either.
Whatever the NBA does the NBA draft still draws a lot of attention.
The sports stations all went crazy when the
Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA draft lottery and took Lebron James
with the Number one pick. Everyone knew who the top NBA prospect was
it was just a matter of who was going to get the rights to pick him.
What is strange about this is some of the NBA
mock draft specialist had Carmelo Anthony as the best player in that
years draft. We will just have to wait and see who turns out to be the
better player.
